Assistant Football Coach (Seasonal)

Associate Director of Financial Aid

Grinnell College seeks a proven financial aid professional to join the student financial aid team as an Associate Director of Financial Aid. A successful candidate will have experience providing a wide range of customer services and deliver responsive, high-quality service to all stakeholders, including prospective students, current students, parents, alumni and colleagues. The Associate Director will assume a leadership role in the office of student financial aid with primary responsibility for federal and state aid programs and compliance as well as the management of federal, institutional and private loan programs. The Associate Director will provide support to the director in the continued implementation of institutional methodology utilizing the CSS PROFILE application at Grinnell. Minimum Qualifications This position requires a strong commitment to serving students and families. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, possess a strong attention to detail, and have organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize work. Proven ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct student financial assistance programs and initiatives. Strong knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid. Strong knowledge of need analysis, including both federal and institutional methodology. Ability to understand and balance the enrollment needs of the College with the financial needs of individual families. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing financial aid regulations, analyzing student data, and implementing procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, integrity, sound fiscal processes, and accurate and timely delivery of financial aid. A bachelor’s degree is required; Minimum five years’ experience as a financial aid administrator and three years’ extensive use of Microsoft Office products. At least two years of experience in a private residential liberal arts college setting and experience with financial aid data management systems a plus.

Bookstore Assistant - Pioneer Bookshop (Part-time)

This position requires a person who enjoys reading and has an interest in local and regional history. The person must be able to create a welcoming atmosphere for a diverse clientele. He or she will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly appearance in the shop. This may involve creating and maintaining merchandise displays as well as data entry. The primary responsibility is customer service, greeting customers as they enter, responding to their needs and completing the sales transaction at the cash register. Minimum Qualifications We are currently looking for a person to work on Saturdays and to cover some afternoons. Flexibility is important. The ideal candidate will have retail experience, knowledge of cash and credit handling procedures, the ability to follow instructions and work independently, a love of books and reading and a warm, helpful attitude. High school diploma. Intermediate computer skills. Pleasant attitude. Good communication skills a must.

How to Apply: The usual schedule for this position is Thursdays and Fridays 3pm–6pm; and Saturdays 10am–4pm. Working primarily Saturdays and help cover various other afternoons. 6-15 hours per week.
